How to Choose the RIGHT Xerox Copier for Your Company

If you are looking for a copier, then you have certainly been struck with the mass amounts of copiers and deals available in the market. It is kind of amazing there are so many copiers for sale. You can get a Xerox copier (which we sell), but there are also other brands you could run into. These include Canon (we can also sell Canon), Toshiba, Ricoh, Savin, Lanier, Kyocera, Copystar, HP, Lexmark, Brother, Sharp, Samsung, and I am sure there are others I am forgetting off the top of my head.

So, if you are wanting to get a Xerox copier, how would you know if you should get a Xerox Versalink C7020 or a Xerox Altalink C8145? What if you got a quote for a Xerox Versalink C405 or a Xerox Altalink C8130? If you don’t know these models, off the top of your head, and why would you… these questions are nearly impossible to answer.

Here is another way you can look at this process. If you learn what you need to think about, you can see what the spec sheets have and go from there.

What are the basic questions you SHOULD be asking when buying or leasing a copier in Milwaukee (or anywhere)?

  • Do you print in color or want people to be able to print in color? Color costs more than black and white, so this makes a difference in your bottom line.
  • Do you use 11 x 17 paper or just letter/legal? Letter/Legal copiers are generally cheaper for the box, though their prints cost more so if you do a lot of printing, you are likely still going to want 11×17 copiers (think better gas mileage).
  • Do you need stapling, hole punch or booklet making ability. All these accessories cost money. So does time. So you need to think about how much stapling you do and decide if that is a good idea for your company.
